This piece is based on actual Celtic enamel work
from around 100 BC. Most of the Celtic repertoire
of images before the advent of interlacing (knotwork)
was abstract bold and direct as in this piece.
It's
meaning is obscure, but it may symbolize the
moon's power over the tides, and the three waves
represent the three powers of women: the power of
purity as a maiden, nurturing as a mother, and
wisdom in old age.
Chain
is made of red brass (similar to bronze) and comes in any
length.
