This piece was made for an exhibition called
"Grave
Goods" that was sponsored by my artist
collective An Droichead/The Bridge
It was a collaborations with my
friend Charles Jevons, who is a very fine metalworker. He
created the depressions in the walls, and soldered together
the box and its lid.
I had a cremation urn in mind,
but since it is too small to hold all the ashes of a grown
person, I called it a reliquary.
In reality it could contain a
small amount of ashes, since many people prefer to scatter
most of the remains of their loved ones, and only retain some.
Custom reliquaries or
Cremation vessels can be undertaken - please contact me for
further details.
