These earrings are based on a style that
developed around 500 BC when the Celts were still
a formidable power in Europe. They were trading
wine with the Etruscans and were influenced by
Mediterranean decorative styles. At this time
much of Greek decoration was plant based
tendrils, which the Celts abstracted and made
more fluid. These earrings are based on a bronze
bucket mount from Cisalpine Gaul (shown)

All
earwires are made of Niobium. Niobium (Nb) is a
soft grey ductile metallic element, also known as
columbium that can be coloured with currents of
electricity. Along with titanium, tantalum,
zirconium, pure refined gold, and platinum it is
one of the six most bio-compatible elements.
Even people with severe metal allergies can
usually wear niobium.
