This design is based on a stone carving
from an 8th century BC hill fort that I visited
in northern Spain. We know little about the Celt-Iberians
of this period. There is, however, a striking
similarity in the style of their art and the
structure of the hill forts in which they lived,
to that of other Celtic settlements. The cross
design in the centre of this piece is usually
only found in cultures that understand the points
of the compass, which are related to the sun. The
vestigial interlacing, however, would indicate
water and the moon.
Earrings
can also be ordered singly, or as dangles.

All
earwires are made of Niobium. Niobium (Nb) is a
soft gray ductile metallic element, also known as
columbium that can be coloured with currents of
electricity. Along with titanium, tantalum,
zirconium, pure refined gold, and platinum it is
one of the six most bio-compatible elements.
Even people with severe metal allergies can
usually wear niobium.
