I do extensive research in archaeology, anthropology and philosophy to 
inspire and inform the work. I am constantly renewed by the daily experience, in front of 
the kiln, of transformation by fire.

I work with a grammar of ornament that comes from the past, especially the 'barbarian' cultures of ancient 
Europe, but my goal is to speak
 to the present.

It is my belief that art, like music,
 can build cultural community rather than foster elitism. I hope you find  stories
