GRISAILLE: Amoris

My first attempts at grisaille, while satisfying in their own way, were not what I had hoped. I struggled for a couple of years, trying different kinds of enamel paint which never really gave me the results I desired.

Finally I got a new china paint, which I was planning on using for my classical series. It was not suitable for that purpose - but my first experiment with it in grisaille was more successful than I could have hoped. I first tried a reproduction of an actual piece of grisaille  and I have reproduced the stages on my blog here.
