The Celts were a group of peoples that originated in the Danube River Valley around 800 BC and eventually stretched from the British Isles to Galatia. They had many dealings with other cultures that bordered the lands they occupied, and though they kept no written records themselves, we can piece together a fair picture of them from archaeological evidence as well as historical accounts from other cultures.

In spite of hundreds of scholarly books written in the last 20 years that are widely available and easy to read there continues to be many misconceptions about the Celts. There is still widespread belief in the many romantic fictions perpetrated by the Victorians.

The internet has added a plethora of misguided websites to the mix. All I can offer are my humble insights to help guide you through the forest of misinformation.
