BROOCHES - Rabbit
The rabbit or hare was one of the many animals that could lead you to other worlds. This is where Lewis Carrol got his idea of Alice following the white rabbit to Wonderland. The colour, too, was significant. All white creatures were sacred to the moon goddess, and whiteness was the emblem of otherworldly animals.

According to Pliny there was a taboo against eating hare meat, a sure sign of cult significance. To this day in Kerry, they believe that eating a hare is like eating your grandmother. This is a typical totemic taboo.

All brooches can also be ordered as necklaces
