SCYTHIAN STAG

It is thought that the 'Stag God' originated in the steppes. He was brought to Anatolia by the early Indo-Iranian peoples who left their Kurgan burials at Trialeti and elsewhere in the region and mixed with the Hurrian and other peoples as far as northern Anatolia.

Boy stag of wonder, with horns of a thousand branches and knobs
Thousand branches and knobs and of a thousand bright candles
Amongst its horns it carries the light of the blessed sun
On it's forehead there is a star, on it's chest the moon
And it starts along the banks of the shining heavenly Danube
That it may be the messenger of heaven and bringer of news
About our creator and caring god
(translated from an old Hungarian poem)

SCYTHIAN WOLF

This wolf has the typical backward turning joints of the early Scythian artist, which was what attracted me about it. In Scythian culture (as in viking and Roman) the wolf symbolized the powers of the earth, and was often associated with the thunder god.
The wolf symbolizes honour and is also considered the father of most Turkic peoples. Asena (Ashina Tuwu) is the wolf mother of Bumen, the first Khan of the Göktürks
