THE FABLED HARE
Hares were associated with both Artemis and Aphrodite in their role as symbols of love, lust, abundance and fecundity. Rabbits were often given as gifts between lovers in ancient Greece, and Pliny the Elder recommended the meat of the hare as a cure for sterility and an aphrodisiac.
